What logo file should I use and where?

With so many logo files potentially given to you by a designer, you're probably left saying "OMG!?". So let's treat OMPNG to give you the prescription for effectively using your logo files.

Doctor Frank is diagnosing and prescribing a solution to the following brand-related ailment question from Trevor in the UK:

“I’ve just joined a company and they’ve given me access to their logos to use. But what are all these file types they have, like EPS and SVG? Basically, what should I use? Help a brother out.”

A MESSAGE FOR DESIGNERS:

In this episode, I refer to an Adobe Illustrator plugin called ‘Logo Package Express’. It’s a fantastic add-on for logo designers to export logo files in minutes, rather than the hours and hours it can take to name and folder hundreds of files because of many variations, colourways and file types.

Logo Package Express can handle different logo variations, different colourways for each logo variation, print (CMYK) and digital (RGB) colour variations, as well as file formats like AI, EPS, PDF, SVG, JPG & PNG. It can also add padding around your logo files and will create a well-defined folder structure and name each file accordingly. The best part is that all this can be done in a matter of minutes. Something that used to take me half a day to do, if not more.

It’s a one-time purchase of $119USD and if you charge $50 or $100/hour for your services this will pay for itself in the time saved exporting your logo files, for just one project, it’s that good!
